According to the Chinese lunar calendar, your Chinese Zodiac sign is based on your birth year. Each year is associated to an animal sign. Since there are 12 zodiac signs, your sign will come once in a 12 year cycle.

Contrary to what you may think, YOUR BIRTH-SIGN YEAR IS UNLUCKY FOR YOU, so you must be very careful every 12 years of your life – when you are 12, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72, etc.

DON’T PANIC! There are ways to avoid the bad luck!

The Legend

People in their zodiac year are believed to offend the God of Age (Tai Sui) and bring upon themselves his curse. Tai Sui is a mythical star, believed to move directly opposite from Jupiter. Its positions were considered sacred and that generated a lot of taboos in people’s lives.

Ways to Avoid Bad Luck in Your Zodiac Year

#1 Face the opposite direction of Tai Sui

This will not only help you avoid bad luck but it will also bring you good fortune! For example: 2017 is the year of the Rooster and Tai Sui faces West. Roosters can take advantage and bring upon themselves good luck if they face East. That is why people even adjust their beds and working areas.

#2 Wear RED

Red is the color of good luck so to help yourself avoid misfortune during your Zodiac year, you should wear anything red – bracelets, clothes, underwear, socks, etc. BUT be careful, you CANNOT buy those for yourself! A spouse, older relative or friend MUST buy them for you!

#3 Wear JADE

Jade is also associated to good luck so any accessories made of jade can help you avoid misfortune – earrings, bracelets, pendants, etc.

Yes, there are a lot of superstitions and rituals to follow. You may not believe in them… but, hey, if they don’t help, they won’t hurt either 😉
