Come and join the Traditional Chinese Culture Camp!
Our camp is open to anyone who is interested in traditional Chinese culture, especially the folk culture and customs in Beijing.
In each session, we gather either indoor (Wangjing SOHO, Chaoyang District, Beijing) or outdoor, on Saturday morning, beginning from 10 a.m. to 11.30 p.m. For the indoor week we focus on one specific topic in Chinese culture, with one hour for an interactive lecture and half an hour for free discussion.
The topics are:
To be a Gourmet in China — 2 weeks
The Glamours Beijing — 2 weeks
We go out for a field trip once every month, in museums, streets, restaurants — any place that you can experience the folk culture and customs.
The language used in the camp is English.
The schedule for the first session — The Glamour of Beijing June 3rd , 2017 Indoor (Wangjing SOHO, Chaoyang District, Beijing)
The number of campers — Maximum of 10, minimum of 5
Camp fee — RMB 199 / 2 weeks (one topic) Payment through WeChat or Alipay
Expenses in the field trip are not included.
About the Lecturer
Eddie, an instructor in the English Faculty of a renowned university in Beijing, has been the lecturer of the course — Traditional Chinese Culture (in English) for 4 years. He also gave lectures on the subject online and was invited to other universities for lectures on traditional Chinese culture. In 2014, he was enrolled and sponsored by the China Scholarship Council to be a visiting scholar in a U.S. university and gave lectures on traditional Chinese culture there, gaining popularity with both undergraduate and graduate students. He is also a columnist for a magazine, writing articles on different subjects of traditional Chinese culture.
